When a patch is the wrong answer
A single impact hole, an old cable run or a plumbing access cut is a patch, and a patch on a flat field of wall is straightforward work. Three situations are not. A ceiling that has taken water is usually saturated well beyond the visible stain, and compound over a softened board fails again within months. A wall with repeated cracking along the same line is telling you something is moving, so the drywall is the symptom rather than the problem. And a room with many patches spread across it often costs more in labour to patch well than to strip and re-board, because each patch needs feathering and sanding independently. We measure the affected area and tell you which of those situations you are in before quoting, because the cheap option is only cheap if it works once.
